πβ¨ Participate in Canada’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Survey β¨π
π Thursday February 29, 2024: The closing date for sharing your ideas and input to help Canada achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is fast approaching! π
π Why Should You Participate? π
The purpose of this 2-question survey is to gather input from stakeholders and partners across society who are working towards achieving the SDGs, both in Canada and abroad. Your valuable insights will contribute to Canada’s 2024 Annual Report on the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, led by Government of Canada Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
π What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? π
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by world leaders in 2015, is a 15-year global framework centered on 17 interconnected SDGs. These goals aim to eradicate poverty and hunger, ensure quality education, promote gender equality, protect the environment, and more. The 2030 Agenda is universal and emphasizes leaving no one behind.
The 17 UN SDGs are: No poverty (SDG 1), Zero hunger (SDG 2), Good health and well-being (SDG 3), Quality education (SDG 4), Gender equality (SDG 5), Clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), Affordable and clean energy (SDG 7), Decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), Industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9), Reduced inequalities (SDG 10), Sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11), Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), Climate action (SDG 13), Life below water (SDG 14), Life on land (SDG 15), Peace, justice, and strong institutions (SDG 16), and Partnerships for the goals (SDG 17).
π How Can You Participate? π
Visit Canada and the Sustainable Development Goals to learn more and complete the questionnaire. Your contributions will help shape Canada’s progress towards achieving the SDGs, and highlight the inspiring work being done by diverse stakeholders and partners across the country.
π Get Involved Today! π
ESDC is seeking contributions from individuals, governments, civil society organizations, Indigenous communities, academia, and non-profit organizations. Your input will help advance the SDGs and create a brighter future for all.
π Share your ideas and take the survey before February 29, 2024. Together, let’s make a difference and move towards a more sustainable and inclusive world! π
