A compilation listing of species of concern to date in the Afforestation Areas compiled from the sources provided below. Numbering close to 60 species at risk.

A compilation listing of the tree species to date in the Afforestation Areas including the 10 planted or afforested tree species when the afforestation areas were started as tree nurseries, including one noxious invasive tree species, and the other 39 tree species coming naturally and mostly native.

In addition to the iNaturalist and eBird HotSpot database collections of flora and fauna, Environmental Dynamics Inc. EDI compiled a natural area screening study as part of the Blairmore Sector Plan Amendment. A diversity of ecosystems such as wetlands, native aspen bluffs, meadows, ecotones similar to the boreal forest come to view in these prairie forests which are semi-wilderness habitats referred to as laboratories in ecological succession.
