Are you a Cultural and Environmental Heritage Writer with a passion for outdoor education, reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous persons, and Aboriginal knowledge, culture and ethics?

Our public park space is seeking a Heritage Writer to fact check the interpretation of the Prairie Forest Guide app. This app provides outdoor education opportunities that promote the understanding of Aboriginal knowledge, culture and ethical standards. The Prairie Forest Guide app is part of an ongoing effort to support reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous persons in our public park space.

We are looking for a Heritage Writer who is knowledgeable in Aboriginal knowledge, culture and ethical standards. The ideal candidate must be able to fact check the interpretation of the Prairie Forest Guide app to ensure accuracy and authenticity. The Heritage Writer will also be responsible for providing guidance and support to the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. regarding cultural protocols and best practices in editing existing interpretive stories and write new stories as needed.

The successful candidate must have a background in Aboriginal studies, have a good understanding of the local Indigenous communities and cultures, and possess excellent writing and communication skills.

Contract term position stage one; Cultural and Environmental Heritage Writer

Are you an experienced writer and editor with a deep knowledge of Indigenous and Métis history? Do you have the passion and skill to create high-quality interpretive stories that bring the past to life? If so, then we are looking for you!

We are an organization working on a project to create a digital wayfinding app for afforestation areas. We are seeking an experienced Cultural and Environmental Heritage Writer to help us develop and review existing virtual markers that will bring to life the Indigenous and Métis history of the land.

As a Cultural and Environmental Heritage Writer, you will be responsible for researching and creating stories that accurately reflect the history of the land. You will be expected to use your writing and editing skills to ensure that the stories are well written and factually accurate. You will also be responsible for fact-checking the new and existing stories to ensure accuracy.

Experience with Indigenous and Métis history is essential for this position. We are looking for someone who is passionate about telling stories that bring the past to life and who can create stories that accurately reflect the history of the land.

In addition to your writing and editing skills, we are looking for someone who is a team player and who can work with other members of the project team to ensure that the stories are accurate and engaging.

Are you an experienced Cultural and Environmental Heritage Writer looking to make a difference? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are seeking an experienced Cultural and Environmental Heritage Writer to join our team and help honour the United Nations Decade of Indigenous Languages. We are creating a Prairie Forest Guide smart phone app that will feature virtual markers, providing wayfinding information and highlighting the Indigenous and Métis history of the land.

As the Cultural and Environmental Heritage Writer, you will be responsible for editing, fact-checking, and interpreting stories for the app. You will need to be creative and knowledgeable about the Indigenous and Métis history of the afforestation areas. You will need to ensure that stories are accurate and engaging, while also being respectful of Indigenous cultures and traditions.

The successful candidate will have excellent writing skills, a strong sense of cultural sensitivity, and a passion for environmental issues. You should have an understanding of Indigenous cultures and be familiar with their history. You should also have a background in environmental heritage research, with experience in writing and editing interpretive stories.

Do you have a passion for protecting and celebrating our planet’s unique cultural and environmental heritage? Are you interested in learning about and honoring the United Nations Decade on Indigenous Languages? If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

We are looking for a Cultural and Environmental Heritage Writer to join our team. You will be working with us to protect and preserve naturalized areas and their habitats for federally and provincially listed species at risk. You will also be using Traditional Ecological Knowledge to help protect these important areas, which are laboratories in ecological succession.

As a Cultural and Environmental Heritage Writer, you will be responsible for reviewing researched written articles about the importance of preserving our cultural and environmental heritage. You will be expected to work closely with our team to ensure all information is accurate, highly informative, and engaging. You will also be responsible for producing information that is culturally relevant and respectful of Indigenous languages.

In addition to researching and writing, you will also be expected to participate in field trips and other events to learn more about the natural history of the areas we are trying to protect. You will also be responsible for promoting our cause through your writing and engaging with the public through social media platforms.

We are looking for someone with a strong passion for protecting the environment and a strong understanding of traditional ecological knowledge. You should have excellent writing, editing, reviewing and research skills, and be able to write in a clear, concise, and engaging style. You should also have experience communicating cultural heritage to promote environmental protection leadership.

Calling All Prairie Forest Guides!

Are you passionate about preserving the cultural and environmental heritage of the prairie forests of Saskatoon and area? Do you have a deep knowledge of the Indigenous and Métis communities of the two Saskatoon Afforestation Areas, Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and George Genereux Urban Regional Park?

If so, we have an opportunity for you!

We are looking for an editor to join our team in creating an app dedicated to the preservation of the prairie forests of Saskatoon and area. These two afforestation areas are situated on Treaty 6 territory, so we are particularly interested in applicants who have a deep knowledge of this land’s history and culture.

The app will be designed to educate users about the importance of preserving these forests, and to provide resources for those who wish to help protect them. We are looking for an editor who will be able to work with our team to create engaging, informative content for the app.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about protecting these prairie forests, and who has a deep knowledge of the Indigenous and Métis communities of Saskatoon and area. Are you passionate about the Canadian Prairies and their unique cultural and environmental heritage? Do you have a degree in education, as well as hands-on success and experience in outdoor and environmental education learning experiences? If so, then you may be the perfect fit for the position of Cultural and Environmental Heritage Prairie Forest Guide App editor.

The Cultural and Environmental Heritage Prairie Forest Guide App is an innovative educational tool that seeks to promote reconciliation between indigenous and non-indigenous persons. It focuses on the social and natural aspects of the prairies and allows users to explore and learn about the unique culture and environment of the area.

As the App editor, you will be responsible for ensuring the content of the App is accurate and up-to-date. You will work with a team of designers, developers, and content specialists to create an engaging and informative experience for users. Additionally, you will be responsible for editing existing App stories, and including additional relevant content which is missing.

The ideal candidate for this position should have a degree in education or a related field and experience in outdoor and environmental education learning experiences. You should be comfortable working in a team environment and have an eye for detail. Additionally, you should be passionate about the Canadian Prairies and the unique cultural and environmental heritage of the two Saskatoon Afforestation Areas namely Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and George Genereux Urban Regional Park.

Are you passionate about the environment and culture? Do you have an understanding of Traditional Ecological Knowledge and its application in afforestation areas? Are you an experienced app editor with expertise in dealing with invasive species, protecting species at risk, and using traditional and medicinal uses of plants?

If so, then we want to hear from you!

We are currently seeking an experienced Cultural and Environmental Heritage Prairie Forest Guide app editor for a project during the United Nations Decade on Ecological Restoration. This project will involve creating an app that will provide information on the traditional and medicinal uses of plants found in the afforestation areas, as well as dealing with invasive species and their impact, and protecting species at risk.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • An advanced knowledge of Traditional Ecological Knowledge and its application in afforestation areas
  • Experience creating and editing apps
  • Knowledge of dealing with invasive species, protecting species at risk, and using traditional and medicinal uses of plants
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Seeking an Innovative Cultural and Environmental Heritage Prairie Forest Guide App Editor

Are you a writer / editor who is passionate about environmental heritage, culture and Indigenous perspectives? We are looking for an experienced story teller editor to build a unique and comprehensive self guided tour to guide visitors through the 474 acres of greenspace located in the heart of the Midwest. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop new and edit existing stories for a guide that integrates Indigenous philosophy and provides new models of how to relate to the land and restore and build relationships between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities.

This project is an exciting opportunity to create a self guided tour via a smart phone that combines Traditional Ecological Knowledge, ethnobotany, Indigenous heritage and culture, and Indigenous languages. The app will be used to explore and appreciate the many species of plants and animals found in this greenspace. The app will also provide an opportunity to learn about traditional ecological practices, as well as how to care for and protect this valuable habitat.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a deep understanding of Indigenous perspectives and cultures, as well as a passion for the environment and its protection. Experience in developing stories, and editing existing stories is an asset. The actual programming and coding of the app is completed. We are looking for someone creative and innovative who can bring this project to life with stories, and editing existing stories. Seeking an Innovative App Editor for Cultural & Environmental Heritage Prairie Forest Guide

Are you a forward-thinking individual who is passionate about bridging the gap between traditional connections with nature and modern science? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop a new and innovative app that teaches people about the cultural and environmental heritage of the prairie forest?

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable app editor to develop a Prairie Forest Guide that will teach users about the local flora and fauna, as well as the traditional uses of native plants for healing and medicinal purposes.

In this role, you will be responsible for researching and writing content, as well as developing interactive activities and illustrations. You will need to have a deep understanding of both indigenous terms for flora and fauna as well as Western scientific classification systems. Your goal will be to create a unique and inspiring experience for users that will foster reconciliation between cultures.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a degree in ecology, environmental studies, or a related field and will be knowledgeable about the prairie forest and its various plants, animals, and traditional uses. They must also have excellent communication skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and be comfortable working with a variety of software tools.

Seeking a Cultural and Environmental Heritage Prairie Forest Guide App Editor (contract position)

The Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. is looking for a passionate individual to join a project to create an interactive mobile app that will help promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous persons regarding perspectives on this 474 acres of greenspace land. The app will provide a platform for cross-cultural learning about the flora, fauna, and historic and cultural history of this land.

The Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. is looking for an experienced and creative app editor who can create an engaging and informative interactive app experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the team to create an interactive guide that educates and engages users in an immersive and interactive way.

The app editor will work with the development team to create an intuitive user experience while incorporating features that will make the app interactive and engaging. The app editor will be responsible for researching and gathering information on the flora, fauna, and historic and cultural history of the land, as well as working with the development team to create visuals and audio elements.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultures, as well as experience with app editing and development. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team.
