Fresh snow! Going out in the winter time when there is freshly fallen snow on the ground is an amazing experience. A heavy snowfall covers everthing in a thick blanket of white. In the kingdoms of Scotland and England, this may be called an “onding.” As compared to a light snow, which may be referred to as a “skift” of snow.

Now then, if you happen to come out to the afforestation areas first thing after a blizzard when the ground is covered in a delightful onding of snow, then keep your eyes peeled. The marvels of prints in the snow are a true source of wonder.
Large tracks, small claws, tails, all make their unique imprint into the freshly fallen snow.
