The afforestation areas began as tree nurseries planted by the City of Saskatoon Parks Department to replenish trees in the city parks. The afforestation areas commenced under the auspices of the Green Survival Program.

Today, on Wednesday April 29, celebrating Earth Month! This year’s Earth Day 2020 theme is Climate Action, which will be explored during Earth Month.
